'The new CoroCoro issue, released this week, has announced that a brand new Pokemon game is to be revealed. However, unlike people expect, this reveal isn't coming at Jump Festa, but is in fact coming in the issue of CoroCoro next month, due out on January 14th 2012, in what they call a world first shocking announcement. It's currently unknown what game will be revealed, whether it will be main series or not, but we'll provide information a few days before CoroCoro's release.'
There is obviously a lot of speculation at this point, as to what this game will be, so here are a few of my thoughts:
- A third game to Black and White.
- A Gen V Stadium remake, with improved online capabilities when compared to PBR. This would include mini-games, Gym Leader Castle, Wifi battles, etc.
- A Pokemon MMO. This is a long shot, but would be very interesting to see it done.
- The ultimate game: all five regions in a single adventure. Possibly Orre or Almia included.
As the announcement is supposed to be 'a world first shocking announcement', I'm hoping that it IS the last one I listed. What I DON'T want are side games, like Mystery Dungeon.
Seeing as how Black and White came out in Japan during September of last year, I'm inclined to think that this new game is able to incorporate them.
So what does everyone else think of this announcement? Feel free to share any thoughts or speculations.
UPDATE: Serebii and Pokebeach have revealed a new game, entitled Pokemon X: Nobunga's Ambition, which is set for release in Japan some time this upcoming year. It's basically Dynasty Warriors meets Pokémon. So... it's a side game. For more indepth info check out this article by Pokebeach.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a PBR -like game. PBR came out before Platinum, so most likely a PBR -like game would come out before a third installment of this series.
I hope it's more like Pokémon XD. If we are getting a battle engine, I want some sort of story as well.
I agree with the 'No Side Games' such as Dungeon, Trozei, or the Pikachu Park type games. A PBR type game would be cool but I hope for some Pokemon Rainbow version where you can travel to all the 5 regions in one game.
