Fitocracy

In the past, I've always told myself I need to exercise more and be healthier.  The problem I had was a lack of motivation.  There wasn't any "instant" gratification from working out like there is in video games, like Pokémon.  Then, a little over a month ago, I was reading various webcomics, like Penny-Arcade and XKCD, and I saw them talk about something called fitocracy. (WARNING: Webcomics may contain topics, language, and/or pictures that may not be suitable for young children.  If you are easily offended by this type of material, please do not click the links.)

At first, I didn't know what they were referencing, so I didn't look it up, but at some point, Gabe tweeted about invite codes to fitocracy.  That's when I decided to figure out what fitocracy is exactly.  I found out it was a social fitness web-app.  I started working out with my co-worker a few weeks before, but he eventually stopped going in the mornings when I went, so I kinda stopped going as much (Again, loss of motivation.).  So I decided that I would give fitocracy a try.  I joined through the Penny-Arcade group invite, and logged my workout from a couple of days before. That took me to level 3, and also motivated me to give the gym a shot again.  After logging each of my workouts, I quickly became addicted.  Since joining fitocracy, I haven't missed  but one workout session (that I had control over).

Since it's helped me, I wanted to share it with you guys.  Today, I created a group on fitocracy called "Pokémon Trainers" to build a community of Pokémon players who also share a common goal of fitness, and the group became big enough to grant me an invite code.

If you would like to join fitocracy, just click the following link and sign up!

It's still in beta, so it's only going to get better from here.

First of all, Earl posted this.
Second, it's not spam. He wants to help people get motivated to working out, even through such a bond as Pokemon games.
